Our multi-disciplinary surgical team is committed to restoring both form and function with compassionate, expert care.

Diagnosis and Evaluation

Most congenital Cranio-Maxillofacial conditions are diagnosed shortly after birth, often by a pediatrician or obstetrician. In some cases, genetic syndromes like Down syndrome or Treacher-Collins Syndrome can be identified during pregnancy through chromosomal analysis.

To evaluate Cranio-Maxillofacial conditions, we use advanced imaging and diagnostic tests such as:

  • X-rays
  • CT Scans
  • MRI
  • Genetic Testing (if required)

A thorough evaluation helps our team understand the severity of the condition and create a customized treatment plan.

Surgical Procedure

Cranio-maxillofacial surgery aims to repair, reconstruct, and restore facial structure and function. The nature and extent of the surgery depend on the specific condition and its severity.

During initial consultations, our specialists will:

  • Review medical history and current diagnosis
  • Conduct imaging and diagnostic tests
  • Decide whether surgical intervention is needed
  • Outline the surgical plan and expected outcomes

Procedures are performed under local or general anesthesia, depending on complexity. Some minor surgeries can be completed in a day-care setting, while more intricate procedures may require hospital admission for post-operative care. Surgical techniques may involve incisions, bone reshaping, soft tissue reconstruction, and the use of grafts. Absorbable sutures and surgical dressings are used to manage wounds and promote healing.

Post-Surgery Recovery and Care

Recovery time varies depending on the complexity of the surgery. Patients may experience temporary swelling, discomfort, or mild bleeding, all of which are managed with medication and proper care.

Post-operative care guidelines include:

  • Avoiding hard-to-chew foods
  • No brushing for a few days—use antiseptic mouth rinses instead
  • Avoiding tobacco and alcohol
  • Resting adequately to support healing
  • Using cold compresses to reduce swelling

Follow-up visits ensure proper recovery and evaluate the need for any additional treatments or therapies.

Special Focus Areas

Traumatic Facial Deformity Correction:

Injuries due to accidents or violence can cause severe facial deformities. Our team uses endoscope-assisted and navigation-guided minimally invasive techniques to restore facial aesthetics and function, helping patients reclaim their confidence and quality of life.

Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Disorders:

TMJ disorders can lead to significant issues with speech, chewing, and facial symmetry. These may result from trauma, arthritis, or congenital anomalies. At DDK Global Hospital, we offer a combination of medications, physiotherapy, and surgical interventions to treat TMJ ankylosis, joint dysfunction, and associated facial deformities.
